The owner's friendliness and tips on places to visit in Polannaruwa made the stay even better. The price was reasonable, and the room was cleaner and tidier than we expected. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Sunset Tourist Home. Highly recommended!

He went out of his way to pick us up at the bus station and helped plan activities. The owner is a very kind gentleman who arranged an oruwa, a Sri Lankan fishing boat, for bird watching and a chance to spot wild elephants in their natural habitat.

Amal took us to the bus station and was very helpful throughout. We stayed two nights at Sunset Tourist Home, where the rooms were clean and really nice for the price. We had tea, then asked about the sunset trip on the lake with a fisherman that we’d read about in other reviews. Amal arranged it straight away. It turned into one of our most beautiful experiences in Sri Lanka, with wild elephants and many other things to see. We also rented two bikes at Amal's place. The host connected us with a local fisherman for a sunset canoe trip on the nearby lake. We saw wild elephants, buffalos, and lots of birds, a truly memorable experience. The dinner and breakfast from the host were delicious too.

Amal is friendly, helpful, and really communicative. Ask Auntie to cook you a meal, hers was the best home cooked dinner we had in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.
