Ardeen Villa

The staff looked after us so well during our New Year’s stay. The breakfast was carefully prepared, and the rooms were thoughtfully furnished and well maintained. It’s an amazing place right on the beach, and we couldn’t have asked for more.

The beach was the highlight of our holiday at Villa Ardeen. At times it felt like we had it to ourselves, though the ocean was too rough for swimming while we were there. A walk along the beautiful beach takes you to a lagoon and a quaint beach bar for drinks and snacks. Check the tide times, though, as we got stranded and needed a tuk-tuk back to the villa. Our family of four stayed the week before Christmas, and it was such a memorable trip. The villa is spacious, well designed, spotless, and peaceful, with complete privacy and breathtaking ocean views. Mr. Kannan, the villa manager, took wonderful care of us throughout, while still giving us room to feel like we had the place to ourselves. He arranged a fantastic safari at Udawalawe National Park and a visit to the Elephant Orphanage, both trip highlights. The owner was also helpful before and during our stay, sharing tips and recommendations and checking in by phone to make sure things were going smoothly. Nothing felt like too much trouble. The chef was fantastic. They made tailored meals for our fussy teen, lovely breakfasts, and a spectacular beach BBQ. After noticing we liked watching the sunset, the staff surprised us with a table and bonfire right on the beach. We ate at the villa every evening because it was so relaxed. Our children loved playing volleyball and swimming in the pool. The town is remote, but Tangalle is a short drive away, with a handful of tourists and local amenities. Villa Ardeen is a peaceful family getaway and a good base for exploring Sri Lanka. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable vacation, and highly recommend it.

We highly recommend Ardeen villa for a peaceful family break. It’s right on the beach, very quiet, and family friendly. The caring staff took excellent care of us, and the food was delicious. Chef Shrikant was very willing to work around our dietary restrictions.
