Staying at Mama Daisy's for a night was a lovely experience. Her two-bedroom house has a relaxed, welcoming feel, which made a refreshing change. Ask her to make dinner and she'll introduce you to excellent Sri Lankan cooking. The guesthouse is beside the lagoon and a turtle conservation organization. That evening, I even saw turtles laying eggs on the beach. There's a small supermarket about a hundred meters away. Mama Daisy was attentive to what we needed and even came with us to Tangalle to point out the right bus for the next part of our journey.
