Darshani Lodge

The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the property itself is beautiful. We only wish we'd had time to relax by the lovely pool. The owner was wonderful, helping with transport, arranging things, and even taking us on a tour. He, his family, and the staff were all so kind and helpful, and made delicious local breakfasts. Best place to stay in Sigiriya.

We only had one night before carrying on with our journey, and I wish we could have stayed longer. It's a lovely family-run place, and I recommend making use of the pool. Even though we arrived very late, the whole family got up to get rooms ready for all five of us. Everything was spotless, from the sheets to the bathroom, and smelled wonderful.

After a hot day out, or the climb up Lion's Rock, the pool is a welcome cool-off. The hosts are lovely and can arrange the usual activities in the area, so ask them if you haven't planned ahead. You walk past the main building into a garden where a few clean AC rooms sit among coconut trees, or maybe banana and pineapple trees. Near the reception and restaurant, there's a nice view of the jungle and a distant rock on the horizon. A really nice place to sleep.

The garden is a lovely place to clear your head, with peaceful surroundings and plenty of birds to watch. Breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were warm and shared useful tips for seeing the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. We had an unforgettable stay at this charming family guesthouse in Darshani, Sigiriya, and found the location handy for Sigiriya Rock and other sights. Highly recommend it.
