Sigiriya Jungles

That lost room key card left a sour note: we were charged 1500 LKR, which felt quite high and somewhat unreasonable. Jungles Sigiriya is otherwise beautiful, in a lovely natural setting, and the property is very well maintained with a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Our room was clean, nice, and comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job. Breakfast tasted good too, though the selection was a bit smaller than at the other hotels we stayed in around Sri Lanka. We enjoyed it all the same. Overall, comfortable rooms and a great location, but that extra fee did make the stay slightly less positive.

We had a peaceful, rejuvenating stay, and the resort was well equipped with a gym, swimming pool, restaurant, and bar. The buffet breakfast had a wide choice of local and international food. Our rooms were clean, spacious, and cosy. The staff were lovely and helpful, even putting together bags of light snacks for us to eat on the road. I’d highly recommend this place if you want somewhere quiet and comfortable in Sigiriya.

One particularly thoughtful touch was the snack box for our long journey home. It was Vesak Day, and heavy traffic made the trip much longer than usual, so we really appreciated it. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The food was excellent, and both the spacious rooms and the beautiful property were clean and very well maintained. We had a wonderful visit. Highly recommended!

The staff deserve a special thank you, particularly Lakmi, Nilan, Apollonius, Nilantha and Mangala. They gave us five star service, anticipated what we might need, and did everything they could to make our three nights wonderful. We were disappointed because we had booked our Sri Lanka tour through Inspiring Vacations, whose inclusions clearly said “13 nights in 5-star hotels.” This property is in the jungle with a really nice setting, but the rooms and grounds aren’t five star and could use cleaning, maintenance, and upgrades. We told the hotel staff how we felt about what we paid Inspiring Vacations for versus what we got, and they really stepped up to make the stay good despite that. If you have time here, join the curry cooking demonstration. It’s hands on, and you get to prepare and eat some lovely local curries. The buffet food was very good, especially the Sri Lankan dishes, which were the best we had during the whole two-week tour. Service felt truly authentic, friendly, and proactive. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we were having a wonderful time.
