We loved having breakfast on the porch and relaxing among all the greenery around this family-run guesthouse. The family members were so friendly and quick to help with our requests. They can arrange massages nearby, cooking classes, transport or even hot air ballooning, and they also shared helpful information about our next stop, whether Dambulla, Polonnaruwa or somewhere else. Check-in was quick and easy, and our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The guesthouse is centrally located in Sigiriya, close to shops and restaurants, and not far from the Lion Rock entrance. That made an early morning hike to the summit for sunrise possible. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that a hotel 2 km away lets guests use its swimming pool. It was wonderful to cool off there after climbing Sigiriya lion hill early in the morning. The only downside was the wifi. It slowed down at busy times when lots of people were in their rooms using the internet.

My friend's room was a little damp and musty, though mine was perfect. The staff were amazing and couldn't have done more for us. They arranged all our trips, including a home cooking experience that was the highlight of our stay, and suggested Hurulu Safari, which turned out to be one of the best things we did, even better than Yala. The breakfast is still my favourite of all the places we've stayed during our 2.5 weeks here. Fab location and great staff. I loved this place.

We stayed four nights with friends and really hope to return. Sigiri Lion Lodge is good value whether you're on a budget or not, and it's close to major sights like Lion Rock and the ancient city district. The staff are sweet and very helpful, and speak good English. Breakfast was amazing each day. You can buy water at reception, and as far as I understood, guests can all use the kitchen. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

The host was friendly and helpful, and breakfast on the terrace was excellent. I stayed one night. The room was basic but clean and comfortable, and the price was very reasonable.

The owners are so welcoming and kind, and I sincerely recommend this place. My room was spacious, with lovely wooden furniture, and there was a terrace with a table and chairs. The internet connection was excellent too.
