Our room overlooked the pool and was clean and modern, with a private bathroom, fridge, kettle, and desk. The pool was big and clean with sun loungers, though there wasn’t much shade. The garden was beautiful and full of wildlife. From the third-floor restaurant, there’s a lovely view of the lion rock. They have scooters, bikes, laundry service, and lots of tours. Breakfast was great: eggs cooked how you like, sausages, toast, butter, jam, fruit, one Sri Lankan pancake, watermelon juice, coffee, and tea. The shower had no hot water.

The team made a big difference here. The staff were super friendly, and they arranged fantastic safaris for guests. Laksiri, the owner, was especially warm and consistently went out of his way to make sure everything was right. His care made our stay memorable. Sigiriya Rock Hide also has a homely feel alongside professional hospitality. It’s beautifully located, with a magnificent view of Sigiriya Rock, and the rooms are exceptionally spacious with all the amenities we needed. The food was amazing and delicious, and the stay was excellent value. We can’t recommend this place highly enough!

We found the staff and owner incredibly helpful, especially with local advice and recommendations. They even made lunch for all six of us one day, which fitted neatly around our sightseeing. The pool was lovely for unwinding afterward, and the town was about a 15-minute walk away. We also took them up on their tuk-tuk offer a few times. The hotel is comfortable and well placed, though our room felt a bit sparse, with hardly any proper hanging space.

The rural setting was a nice part of our two-night visit to see Lion Rock, and we enjoyed the pool, breakfast, and warm hospitality. I’d happily recommend staying here.

We especially loved the clean pool and the view of the rock from the rooftop terrace, with colourful birds passing by. The hotel sits away from the busy tourist centre, but everything we needed was still close. Staff were so useful, arranging trips and drivers and sharing plenty of good advice. Thanks for a lovely stay.
