Olu Ayurveda Beach Resort

We were there for three nights and really enjoyed the well kept grounds and great pool. The room was comfortable and clean, with both air conditioning and fans, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The beach is under 100m away. We walked along it to coconut hill, then took the road back, which was about a 10 minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, though we had breakfast at the resort each day. It was nice, with excellent service. A nearby fruit shop sells coconuts, and you can sit and drink the water before they open the coconut so you can scoop out the flesh with a spoon made from its husk. The owners of the shop are very friendly. A short tuk tuk ride gets you to Marissa beach, and the area is quiet at night. I’d recommend staying here if you’re in Marissa.

We arrived in the evening after a long day in January 2026, hoping to rest, but had to look through four rooms first, each worse than the last. Several insects were in one room, two others smelled of damp and mould, and all the rooms and bathrooms were dirty. The bidet shower was missing its end and couldn't be used. They said it had broken "today." For two people, we were given just one small 20x20 cm synthetic cloth instead of face and hand towels. We saw the pool area in the morning and it looked nice, but didn't get to enjoy it. We found another hotel first thing and moved out. I have photos to back up what I'm saying, but an error stopped me from uploading them.

The host and employees were warm and really kind, and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was quiet and comfortable, too. We had a wonderful stay at this resort, ideally located in Mirissa close to a stunning beach and other options. Highly recommend it.

The beach had no maintained or sectioned-off area, just towels. That matched the rest of a stay that never felt like the relaxing Ayurveda resort it promised to be. At breakfast they played loud club music, and when we asked for something more fitting, they only turned it down. The treatment room had bright lights, no relaxing music, and doors opening onto the noisy pool area. Staff seemed well-meaning but clueless. Anything beyond a continental breakfast had to be ordered the night before, yet nobody proactively asked what we wanted, even though they were constantly using WhatsApp to upsell treatments. They also didn't mention that the only masseuse was male, which could be uncomfortable for female guests. The 'Spa Manager' seemed to run the whole hotel and serve breakfast as well. Roles felt blurred, and the place came across as chaotic, unprofessional, and understaffed. Housekeeping was meant to come every three days, which is poor, and our room still hadn't been cleaned after four days. The pillows were arguably the worst part. They were so uncomfortable that I needed physiotherapy for my neck when I got home. When I asked for a massage during the stay to help the pain, they ignored me and seemed interested only in treating my partner. For the price, it lacked the service, quiet, and professional standards I expected. We stayed in more comfortable homestays for a fraction of the cost. I can't recommend it.
