We used this as our base for exploring the area, and it worked really well. Tuk-tuks were easy to find at the gate. Coconut Tree Hill is along the same path, with the same coconut trees visible from our bedrooms, and Sunset Bar & Restaurant and Secret Beach are nearby too. Our host gave us helpful suggestions and even arranged a successful whale boat tour where we saw whales. We had two rooms sharing a communal balcony and stayed for two nights. We skipped the included breakfast the first morning, but the next day had fresh fruit, bread, tea, and a tasty omelette with cooked tomatoes. On the night we arrived, the host's family were having a small pre-wedding celebration and kindly shared some wonderful snacks with us. They were so good.

The manager was friendly, helpful, and a real class act. Everything was clean, and the air conditioning worked pretty well. The ocean view is limited, but you can see palm trees and a little of the sea, which was still nice. Prices were similar to other places, though this was the best one I saw. The beach and bars are just a 2-3 minute walk away, and there’s an ATM nearby. A kottu/roti shop stays open late, at least until 2 am. Weligama, a very good place for beginner surfing, is about 4 km away. The tuk-tuk costs 300 rp, or the bus is 25 rp, and the trip takes about 5 minutes.

The room was neat and clean, and the breakfast tasted great, with lots of fruit. The staff were kind and helpful. It’s a very good location for sea views and sunsets.

The kitchen has good equipment, and both the air conditioning and internet worked well. The staff were friendly too. Coconut Hill is a 2-minute walk away, and Turtle Beach takes about 7 minutes. I’d recommend it 👍🏻
