Beverly Beach Mirissa

The pool was the one thing we really liked. It was quite nice, but it couldn't make up for the rest of the stay. The room itself was okay, though the shower sits right beside the toilet and left the whole bathroom wet whenever we used it. Housekeeping missed cleaning the room on our first day and, when we asked, just said they had “forgotten”. After that, it was cleaned only every three days. Breakfast also got repetitive, with only Avocado Toast or English Breakfast each day. The two young men running the place spent most of their time on their phones and seemed barely interested in guests. Management felt questionable and completely unprofessional. For €30-40 a night, we expected a lot more. It didn't feel like a hotel, more like being in someone's living room. We definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

Just a short walk from the beach, this hotel had a really relaxing feel. The staff were very helpful, and it was great value for money.

The rooms and pool were amazing, and breakfast was good even though there weren't many choices. The only drawback was the location, since you can hear vehicles all the time.

The booking was the main problem for us. We paid the full amount upfront for FIVE rooms weeks in advance, and confirmed repeatedly, including the day before. After driving from Colombo to Mirissa, we were told they had only three rooms. We were married couples who had booked and paid for five, so we weren't going to squeeze into three. We didn't stay there, and refused to be ripped off. Now they claim our “behavior” broke their house rules. What behavior? That excuse is completely made up, and their reply to the other review was a pack of lies to cover their own mess. We were part of the same group mentioned in recent reviews, and everything she said is 100% true. The place itself looked nothing like the photos on Google or booking.com. The pool is smaller than a kiddie tub, the garden is unkempt, and the property is filthy. The whole place feels dodgy and shady. It also seems obvious that they prefer foreigners so they can overcharge them, while locals are treated like trash. When a bad review appears, suspicious accounts suddenly add fake 5-star reviews to bury the truth. They don't honor bookings or treat customers with basic respect, and they have no shame in lying when caught. This is the worst hotel experience of my life, and Beverly Beach Mirissa is a disgrace to hospitality. If you value your money, time, and sanity, DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. They can ruin your trip without a second thought. It's a scam in the disguise of a hotel.
