Kottawatta Village

The rooms are spacious, with forest on one side and the pool on the other. You can hear and see monkeys, and there’s a peacock on the property too. Parking was easy. When we arrived, we got a cool hand towel and fresh juice, then a staff member showed us to our room. The pool area is great.

Our guide, Navidu, was friendly, knowledgeable, and amazing on the safari trip to the national park, which the hotel arranges. Breakfast was very good, the restaurant meals were excellent, and the whole team was kind and helpful. The cabins were clean and comfortable, and the pool view cabin’s outdoor bathroom was a memorable way to feel close to nature. Its bathtub looks out over greenery and the sky, which is lovely, though there are a few insects to watch for 😂. This rustic place really feels like a jungle escape, with birds and animals all around. We even had a hornbill visit the bathroom one day. At night, the sounds outdoors and by the pool make you feel deep in the wild. Definitely worth experiencing.

The location and safari were amazing, but my one night here was awful because I got bitten all over by bed bugs. They offered us another room for the second night, but we had to turn it down because those rooms were badly infected too. Please strip the soft furnishings and fumigate the room so this doesn’t happen again.

A beautiful place in nature, with spacious accommodation and two pools. I stayed for two nights with my family while we were doing safari. Breakfast was good, and the three course dinner was brilliant, though massive. The staff were helpful, and I also had a great ayurveda massage. I’d happily stay much longer to enjoy the natural beauty.
