Private Organic House

The cottages were so calm and peaceful, and the owner and his family were lovely and accommodating. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, and were happy to book the safari with them. The owner knows the area well and was very knowledgeable, and we were impressed by how much his family cared for the animals and land. Well worth it. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

We were welcomed with a drink and some extremely tasty cake, and breakfast was included and very good. The owner speaks perfect english and was genuinely friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The houses were in top shape, with working A/C and hot water, and the yard was cleared of leaves daily. This was by far the cleanest and most beautiful place we stayed in Sri Lanka. If you book, consider going on safari with him. His knowledge and language skills made it a complete experience, beyond taking pretty pictures. We’d definitely return and recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for such a nice memory!

We spent two nights at Private Organic House with Opul, his wife, and their daughter. Opul designed the cottages beautifully, and they had everything we needed. The safari we went on with Opul and two other guests was amazing. We spotted elephants, crocs, and lots of birds. That evening his wife cooked a lovely dinner with all our Sri Lankan favourites, including pappadam, pumpkin curry, and aubergine curry. Opul and his family are so warm and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Udawalawe National Park.

I loved how remote the place felt while still having all the comforts of home. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the owner was charming and very helpful. He arranged a safari for us, including a breakfast picnic at a lovely spot near the river.
