Avonil Resort Yala

Only 10 rooms, a huge pool, and a really peaceful feel. The restaurant was excellent too. A perfect spot if you want some quiet away from the noise.

Clean, roomy, comfortable rooms and kind staff who were quick to help with requests. It was a very pleasant stay for a good price, and I'd recommend it if you're visiting the area. Just be aware Yala national park is about a 45-minute drive away.

The view was beautiful, the pool was great, and we had the best shower of our trip in Sri Lanka. We stayed with our two small children, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable. We'd highly recommend this hotel.

The Sri Lankan dishes were authentic, really well prepared, and one of the best parts of our stay. Even though the resort sits among paddy fields, we barely encountered any insects or mosquitoes. Shashika was especially helpful with transport, organizing Yala Safari Jeep tours, tuk-tuks for local sightseeing, a vehicle visit to Hambantota Bird Park, and our comfortable trip back to Colombo. The staff were friendly and always willing to do extra. We stayed two nights, and everything was well organized from the start. On arrival day, the resort sent us the dinner menu ahead of time and had a fresh meal waiting after our long journey. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well maintained, looking out over green paddy fields. We woke to sunrise and birdsong each day. The gates were locked after 10 PM, which made the place feel secure. The grounds were quiet, with scenic roads for a morning walk or jog before a swim and Sri Lankan breakfast. The pool was clean and well kept, and its water felt pleasantly warm, almost heated. Avonil Resort was a peaceful, memorable place to relax and explore Yala, with warm Sri Lankan hospitality. Highly recommended.
