We were disappointed. We weren’t looking for luxury, but the rooms were barely acceptable. One had a stained sheet and no hot water. At 5am, when we got up for safari, there was no running water at all, not even to flush the toilet. The faucets were encrusted, one toilet was half broken, and rain leaked into that room and toilet. There were bugs and ants, plus noise, and the staff had almost no English. The only positives were the A/C and the watermelon smoothie we were offered on arrival.

The reviews on booking gave a misleading impression. The young staff were nice enough, but the bathrooms were nearly unusable, with corroding fixtures, mould and running water that stopped working at times.

The photos made it look better than it was, and the basic amenities really were very basic, with little else available. Communication was difficult because the language skills were almost non-existent. There was also a lot of morning noise and music from the nearby school and temple.
