Yala River Face Inn

The pool looks out toward the river, where we watched birds and fruit bats flying overhead at dusk. The town is just a short walk away, too. Tilina and the staff were so kind and made sure we had what we needed throughout our two nights. We ate dinner here both evenings, and it was fresh and delicious. Really glad we stayed, and very happy to recommend it. Thanks for everything ❤️

The laundry service was great value and came back quickly, which we really appreciated. We also loved the setting, especially all the wildlife nearby. The pool was refreshing, and the service was friendly and faultless. Everyone did their best to make our stay enjoyable.

The river and infinity pool were lovely to sit beside in the afternoon, especially from the big rocking chair outside my room. There was loads of wildlife around, including toucans, kingfishers and paradise birds. The family even started a cricket game on our second afternoon, and I joined in. “AUNTY” played too. My friends were getting hungry and hoping it would end, though. 😄 We were here for two nights, 28th-30 January, and it was a great base for Yala national park. The whole family was involved in running the place, and they made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast kept coming, and the homemade fruit smoothies and cake were delicious. We also really enjoyed the homemade dinners. It’s a quiet spot by the river, with such a friendly, helpful family and fantastic service. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I’d happily come back and recommend it for a trip to Yala national park.

Tilina started out as our guider, but now he feels like a friend. His family and friends were so kind, and the staff were polite and welcoming. The accommodation was simple and clean, with everything we needed. There’s a pool and deck chairs in the yard, with a river behind it where you might spot crocodiles if you’re lucky. They picked us up for the safari, which isn’t far away. People in Sri Lanka are so eager to show you things and explain them, and we came home with loads of memories.
