Golden Beach Cottages

The team made my solo trip to Trinco feel so welcoming. The manager even offered an immediate refund when I accidentally booked a double instead of a single room, which is a level of courtesy you rarely see. Staff and the manager checked every morning and evening to see if I needed anything. They cared about everyone, too. If I’d been away for a while, they’d ask if I was okay when I came back. Such a warm place with lovely employees. I’d absolutely return. Thanks so much, team 🫶🏻

We had a great two-night stay. There was an issue in our room, but it got fixed right away. The ocean view is fantastic, and you can walk to some nice cafes nearby. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

We were very disappointed by the service at Golden Beach Hotel. Water to the upper floor was out for almost an hour, which caused a lot of trouble. One of our guests was in the washroom for about 45 minutes, but no staff answered any calls until midnight, and still weren’t answering then. The room had no flat sheet, cleaning was poor, and the hot-water jug hadn’t been cleaned. There was no staff on duty or manager or other responsible person to speak to, and no one to contact in an emergency. We tried calling, but nobody picked up. At dinner, they hadn’t provided plates, glasses, spoons, or forks. We’re very disappointed with the hotel’s service and management. Sorry to say it, but the experience was far below expectations and needs serious improvement.

We were so impressed by our three-night family stay at Golden Beach Cottages. The staff were next-level helpful and lovely. JP, Kajan, Nomi, and their manager Priah were attentive throughout, and were great with our kids, aged 11 and 14. They talked with them about Sri Lanka and Trincomalee in a knowledgeable and helpful way. We stayed in the newer beachfront rooms beside the restaurant. Falling asleep and waking up to the waves was brilliant. The place is clearly a new venture and still unfinished in spots, but I think that adds to its charm. The restaurant food was nicely presented and well priced. We often went out with the internet to find somewhere for dinner, then came back to JP and the boys at the restaurant because the value and service were hard to beat. We had a really restful two days there and would recommend it to families looking for affordable, idyllic beachfront accommodation.
