Hotel Angel Inn Beach

The location is good, right by the beach, though it’s secluded and quite far from the busier beach area with its restaurants and activities. There’s only the owner’s restaurant on the beach. We didn’t try the food, but the loud music and uninviting look put us off. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures. We booked three rooms, including a triple, but got three windowless doubles. The water heaters were broken, so there was no hot water. When we complained, the owner questioned why we needed it, saying it was mostly for little kids and that it was hot outside. The private bathrooms had bare walls and floors, which made us reluctant to touch anything. One towel was so worn-looking that it seemed dirty, though it wasn’t, and we didn’t use it. When we asked to leave and pay for one extra night as compensation, the owner argued loudly, called us names, and insisted on charging us for two extra nights. We paid, relieved to get away. This was the worst part of our three-week trip. It felt very different from the kindness and fairness we’d found elsewhere in Sri Lanka. I’d advise people to stay away.

The food was what I enjoyed most, everything I tried was fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Angels Beach in Trincomalee was also a lovely place to unwind by the peaceful beach. My room was comfortable and really clean, and the property seemed well looked after. The owner was welcoming and helpful. I’d come back.

The owner arranged snorkeling at pigeon island and two fun dives for us, all of which I highly recommend. I also really liked the food, it was tasty and well prepared each time. The rooms were tidy and clean, and the atmosphere was calm and friendly. A great place to stay in Trincomalee if you want somewhere quiet, clean, and well located.

The staff were warm and always ready to help, which made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. I also enjoyed eating at the on-site restaurant with the sea breeze around me. Hotel Angel Inn Beach is right on the beach, with lovely views and easy access to the sea. My room was clean and comfortable, a nice place to return to after exploring Trincomalee. It’s a peaceful, pleasant option for a seaside break.
