Regina Beach Bungalow

The only downside was the food, which felt a bit pricey for Sri Lanka. Otherwise, we had a nice stay at Regina Beach Bungalows. The grounds are beautiful and quiet, the bungalows are comfortable and cleaned regularly, and the beach is only two minutes away. It has private cabanas where you can spend half the day. The staff were helpful, and Samba, a cute, playful dog, made us laugh more than once.

We were so relaxed here that we added two days to our stay. It was easy to get around on a scooter, and when we came back, the night staff welcomed us warmly. The beach was quiet and easy to reach, with showers there and at the bungalow for rinsing off sand. The sunbeds were comfortable, and staff kept the beach clean. We practically had it to ourselves. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean, with a terrace overlooking the garden. The nice staff brought breakfast, food, and drinks to our veranda. Breakfast was freshly made, and the hotel manager Puvan is a real master at the grill. We loved the food, especially the seafood and burger, and liked it more than what we tried outside or in other cities. They also washed, ironed, and returned our clothes. I want to thank the staff again for looking after what we needed. This was one of the best hotels from my little tour of Sri Lanka with a friend. If you're after somewhere to relax as well as sleep, I highly recommend it. I'll definitely come back and recommend you.

The food was amazing, with fresh fish, prawns, and lobster that beat some of the seafood we tried at local restaurants. The staff were kind and helpful throughout, and the manager arranged excursions and transport, making sure we got a good price. He also set up an easy trip to pigeon island with a reliable guide who picked us up from the beach. Laundry was cheap and convenient too. The hotel is next to a lovely, very quiet beach with beautiful turquoise water. It felt almost private, and guests can use the beach beds and cabanas. We liked relaxing there, having drinks brought to our beds, and playing in the waves. Restaurants and other beaches are within a ten-minute tuk-tuk ride. Our spacious room had a big bed, air conditioning, and fans, so we stayed cool. The WiFi worked well, and the room was cleaned daily. It's a peaceful place, and the welcoming staff are what make it special. We'll be back, highly recommend it.

The beach just to the left is beautiful and empty, near a cemetery. Guests have their own sunbeds there, and it was lovely to watch both sunrise and sunset from the beach. The bungalow itself is very beautiful, with a big, clean, new room and a large, well-kept garden. Breakfast and dinner were tasty, and having them served at tables in the garden felt cozy and nice. For anyone coming to these beautiful parts, the situation with dogs in Trincomalee is sadly quite hard. Please bring some food if you can. There are two sweet dogs next to the hotel who'd love some cuddles and something to eat.
