Trinco Mitra Inn

Great service and a very safe, secure place for families. The rooms were very clean, and it’s close to Uppuveli beach. Right in the center of Trincomaleee, so the main tourist attractions are easy to reach in a short time. Highly recommended for families.

We ended up staying here unexpectedly, right by the main road, N coast Road, and I was totally dissatisfied with the room facilities. The area and reception behind the supermarket were very clean, but the bathroom had no exhaust, so opening its door let the smell spread through the whole room. There were no toiletries, so I had to get them from the supermarket. The family rooms have two double beds in one room. There was cable TV, mostly Indian channels, a balcony, and a small air conditioner that wasn’t enough for the room. There was a mini fridge, but it was closed off and we were told we couldn’t access it. I wasn’t given Wi-Fi access. I’d seen photos in reviews showing tea-making facilities, but there weren’t any for us. The owner said there was a chef, but no guests were coming because of the 2019-4-21 terrorist attack, so no food was available. At the same time, he wouldn’t let us bring food into the room. I also think they post their own review comments for ratings. Many reviews seem to come from people with only a few reviews, like their friends. When I left a low rating, they replied that I wasn’t on the guest list, so I published photos that include me.

Helpful, very friendly staff. It’s good value for money and close to town and all the important places.
