Rangan, the kind-hearted owner, and his lovely cat Karma made us feel welcome and relaxed right away. It's a beautiful oasis, near the beach and other amenities, and Rangan was always around to help, including with our laundry. There's no A/C in the room, but sleeping with the fan and window open was totally fine. Don't expect luxury, but the price and atmosphere make this such a good option for backpackers in Uppuveli!

After one dinner at Karma, the restaurant inside the guesthouse, I ended up staying for 15 days. Rangan made the place feel like family. He’s incredibly kind, helpful, and seems to know what to do whenever a problem comes up. There’s no set menu, which worked out great. Tell him what you’re in the mood for and he’ll get fresh fish, tuna, or prawns and cook it. Everything I ate was really fresh and delicious. I felt I could trust Rangan completely and was in very good hands.

I had a wonderful stay. Everyone was so friendly, and Rangan, the owner, was especially kind and always ready to help. The garden is beautiful and relaxing, with hammocks, and the beach is only a two-minute walk away. It’s simple, with all the basic amenities you need, but full of good memories.

The price felt too high to us, especially since we’d paid less the day before for a combined dolphin watching and snorkeling tour near another island. We came here for snorkeling after reading the reviews, expecting something more private than the mass tours at pigeon island. Instead, we were sent to one of the tour providers by the beach. We would have appreciated clearer communication from Rangan. As things went, we wouldn’t recommend arranging tours here.
