Green View Safari Resort

We saw so much wildlife just sitting on the patio in the evening, including peacocks, mongooses, iguanas, chameleonts, gekkos, squirrels, and lots of birds. It felt like a safari already. The owners were kind and helpful, and their safari with a professional driver was unbelievable. We also really enjoyed the resort’s dinner and breakfast. A wonderful place to stay in nature on a trip to Udalawawe.

The traditional home cooked dinner was one of my favourite meals in Sri Lanka so far, and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. The rooms are beautifully spacious, airy, and nicely decorated. It’s also within walking distance of the Elephant Transit Home, where you can watch orphaned elephants being fed. We booked our Udawalawe national park safari through the owners at a good price and had an amazing time. They’re so kind and accommodating. Definitely stay here if you’re in Udawalawe.

We showed up on the wrong day for our other hotel, and this lovely couple welcomed us with open arms. The air conditioned room had a lovely bathroom, and we had a beautiful Sri Lankan dinner. Would recommend staying here to anyone :)

The food was incredible, and the host couple were warm, welcoming, and especially helpful with our two young children. We were there for two nights with our seven-month-old and two-and-a-half-year-old, along with the grandparents. The Villa was wonderful, very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. We loved the setting among the trees and even spotted a chameleon from the balcony. They arranged a morning safari with Amila, who was superb. He knew so much and clearly cared about the nature he showed us. His skill at spotting tiny birds and reptiles was incredible. It was the best safari we’ve ever taken. Thanks for a great stay, highly recommend.
