Nature House

The food was absolutely delicious, some of the best we’ve had on our trip, and there wasn’t a single thing to complain about. For the price, it’s unbeatable. You almost feel bad paying so little for so much. The father and son who run the place supported us the whole time and were incredibly kind. They made us feel completely at home. Every little detail was taken care of: pickup, a welcome drink right away, and no waiting around. The rooms were spotless, with beach towels, regular towels, a hairdryer, and shower gel. It’s a pity we’re only here for a short stay. Anyone who gets the chance should come. 10/10.

I hardly ever give 5*, but this place earned it. The hospitality was the best we had during our two weeks in Sri Lanka. The son and dad were so helpful with every request, and they’d thought of every detail in the room. The dinner was delicious too, make sure you try it! Fabulous stay. My coconut roti is better than yours, haha.

We loved the safari, especially having a whole jeep to ourselves. The hotel’s pool, surrounded by beautiful nature, was such a relaxing place to spend the day. The location is good, with some restaurants nearby, though I’d recommend eating onsite. Their traditional Sri Lankan buffet tea is served every night, and it was some of the best food we ate on the whole trip, easily the best in Sri Lanka for us. This accommodation is AMAZING, the best we’ve stayed in so far on our four-month trip around SEA. The host and staff were the nicest people we’ve met while travelling. He was always checking in and making sure we were okay, and so accommodating. We felt like royalty. The rooms are modern and clean, with a very good shower. The price is unmatched, and our stay was unforgettable. We even extended it. If you’re staying in Udawalawe, don’t miss this place!

The pool and balcony areas were such lovely places to relax with a book after an early day in the park. We actually extended our stay at the last minute to add another night. The booking site showed only a smaller room was available, but when we arrived they let us keep the larger room without charging extra. It was wonderful to stay longer. The pictures online don’t do Nature House justice. The room was huge, very clean, and felt like real luxury. The staff were welcoming and went above and beyond. You can book a very reasonable, well-reviewed safari directly with them, and they can arrange transfers elsewhere on the island too. We couldn’t recommend it more as a base for an Udawalawe Safari.
