I was very happy with my three weeks here. Ruwan and his family are kind, decent people, and Ruwan often treated me to traditional Sri Lankan family food. I rented the whole second floor, with two new rooms, each with air conditioning and its own bathroom. There’s also a large shared living room, two huge separate verandas with lake views, and a small kitchen. It’s clean, new, and feels safe.

The house and grounds were clean and peaceful, with lots of plants and trees and fresh air coming in from the sea. It’s a five-minute walk to UnaKuruva beach and ten minutes to another beach. Ruvan and his family were very pleasant and always ready to help. I stayed upstairs, where there are two new rooms with air conditioning, private toilets and showers, big beds and tables, plus a cooking area and two large verandas to relax on. A good place to visit if you’re in Tangale.
