Tamarind Tree House

The place was lovely, well cared for, and set in a scenic spot by the river. Being able to take a dip there was a lovely extra. Although we booked at the last minute, the host communicated quickly and thoughtfully, helped everything run smoothly, and gave us a useful local guide. Our group had four comfortable beds and attached bathrooms, which made getting ready easy. Everyone slept well and had a great time. We also cooked lunch there during the New Year days, and the host was very supportive. It was a relaxing getaway that turned out even better than we expected.

The room was clean and the bed was good, and we’d gladly stay again. The owner does everything he can to make sure you’re happy. Excellent value for the price.

Where to start? The staff were friendly enough, but their English was extremely limited, and that was about the only positive. There were cockroaches and wasps, and we could hear mice or rats running in the roof all night. The bedsheets and pillowcases hadn’t been washed. They were covered in dozens of dead bugs and had lots of mold stains, and we threw away the clothes we’d slept in. The A/C dripped on me all night, and they provided only two towels for a three-person room. I’ve stayed in over 100 cheap hostels and never had a night this bad. It was easily the dirtiest place I’ve ever been in. At least the guy was friendly.

A little waterfall and its natural surroundings make for lovely views, and you can rest there and even bathe in the unpolluted water. The sound of the flowing water was enchanting. We had delicious food at reasonable prices after a long ride, and there are rooms with A/C and without it. The staff were friendly, helpful, and supportive. I’d recommend it for a quick meal or a longer stay.
