We were trying to reach Arugam Bay but arrived too late and missed the last bus. Janith understood our situation and offered us a room at a low price. He was genuinely welcoming, made tea and gave us cakes, and let us leave our bags at the office while we went to Arugam Bay and collect them when we returned. The place is close to the bus stand, too.

The rooms were spotless, and we had a lovely one-night stay. We also enjoyed the tasty food and its good variety. The setting was beautiful, and the staff were very welcoming. A great choice for families with kids. 👍

Right in central Wellawaya, it was a handy stop on a short trip, with clean rooms and slow charging for electric vehicles. The property used to be a big business but has had a difficult period. Mr Janith and his mom are working hard to restore it, and I hope their efforts succeed. It has plenty of room to grow.

The owner, or perhaps his son, really made the stay. He was so kind, answered all our questions, and pointed us toward places to see. When we asked to borrow his blender, he even got us a brand new one. The garden is lovely and green, and the location is good. The rooms themselves were dry and clean, though just okay and nothing special. We’d happily stay again if we come back to Wellawaya.

For the price, it’s about what you’d expect. The room could have been cleaner, though the owner was kind and helpful. There aren’t many choices in town, and this one felt safe and affordable.
