Little Villa

The location is great, and the free sunbeds were a plus. We had booked 2 nights, but were contacted and told the place was overbooked and we could stay only one day, even though Booking showed it as available. The AC wasn't working well, and music from the adjoining building usually carried on until midnight. It was a mixed experience, though generally more positive than negative, with a few flaws.

The beach view made mornings and evenings especially lovely, and the location was just right. Staff were kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The whole place was impeccably clean, and the food was delicious, with plenty of dishes to suit different tastes. My stay was fantastic and exceeded my expectations. I'd happily recommend it to anyone hoping for a memorable, pleasant stay.

The reserved sunbeds right by the beach made it easy to relax, and all 3 rooms have a sea view. The staff at Little Villa were friendly and helpful, and breakfast and coffee were decent. My main gripe was having no tea or coffee facilities in the room. It was also impossible to get a drink anywhere before 8:30 in the morning. Still, we had a great time.

The view and beachfront location were the only reasons for the 3 stars. We stayed 2 nights, but the service was poor. When we asked for blankets, the caretaker brought two very thin sheets that didn't feel like proper bedsheets. The AC wasn't cooling the room properly either, though we managed to get some sleep. At checkout, we added the 2 Coca Cola bottles we'd taken from the mini bar to the bill. While we were packing, the owner sent a staff member to check the room. She also said we had to pay for 2 water bottles. We were surprised, since places generally provide 2 bottles of water a day, or at least on arrival. We raised it with the owner, who got aggressive and kept saying they don't provide water for free and guests have to pay. We settled the bill and waited for our ride. When it arrived, the owner had his staff quickly move our things from reception to the steps outside and shut the door. It was a really unpleasant and disappointing experience. In our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka, we'd never had anything like it. I wouldn't recommend Little Villa.
