The young staff were attentive and professional, but one older waiter made the visit uncomfortable with questions that felt insincere. Service took far too long, our order had mistakes, and when the bill came he nearly threw it onto the table before demanding a 10% service charge harshly. He could have asked much more politely. When tourism feels like nothing but business, the cultural exchange and hospitality are lost. It left us disappointed and gave us a very negative image of the country. A really unfortunate experience. We won't return.

I only went to the restaurant, so I can't say anything about the rooms. For food, drinks, and location, I think it has the best combination on this beach. Just order local food and you'll be happy. The Kottu Rotti here is great ;)

The beach was clean and the location was good, though the restaurant service could be better. Most sunbeds were sitting in the sun, while the unused tables were under the canopy. Staff didn't help move the beds. The food wasn't that good either. Our club sandwich was 5 empty pieces of bread with a very thin filling, though the french fries were good.)

We had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony and a beautiful sea view, and breakfast also came with a sea view. The location in Unawatuna is convenient, with restaurants, bars, and stores only a few minutes' walk away. There are just 9 rooms, with direct beach access and beach beds, umbrellas, and towels. The food was really good and fairly priced. My favorite was the tuna stake, highly recommend it. The staff were super nice and helped with everything, including carrying our luggage upstairs. The owner was there most days, making sure everything was immaculate. He's a really nice guy. We talked a lot about Sri Lanka and life, and he made us a farewell dinner of traditional Sri-Lankan food. Couldn't have asked for better treatment. Highly recommend this place!
