Sanmira Renaissance Hotel

We stopped in for lunch, and the staff made us feel very welcome and took great care of us. The seafood was prepared really well, and there’s a lovely view with warm sandy beach access across the road. Thank you, Lal Mendis.

The place felt peaceful and well kept, and the facilities were impressive. I stayed at Sanmira Renaissance Hotel with friends, and the helpful staff made the visit even better. I’d gladly return for another relaxing getaway. Highly recommend it if you’re after a comfortable, quiet stay.

The pool area is cute, and you can cross the road to swim at the beach. The location is good, the room was clean but very basic, and housekeeping only came if we asked. The food was okay, though also basic, at least the breakfast and board-menu dinner. Most of the staff were really friendly and professional. One evening, though, a young restaurant worker asked us directly for money while serving dinner, saying his salary was small and asking if we could help. That was very awkward.

The balcony was the best part for me. I woke to the waves and a beautiful sunrise, with lovely beach views right from the room. The hotel is clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re comfortable and have what you need, and the price is reasonable for the beachfront setting. The beach is close, but the water was too deep with high tide, so we had to walk a bit to find a spot with less water. The facilities aren’t lavish, though the coast and views are the main draw for a relaxing getaway. I’d suggest updating the decor in the rooms and common areas to improve the feel.
