Unawatuna Guest

We had a really lovely stay in the middle of Unawatuna. The balcony was huge and the room spacious, with a great hot shower and air conditioning that worked perfectly. It was also convenient to park our tuktuk right out front. Cafes and restaurants are close by, and the beach is a short walk away. I'd recommend the coffee at the downstairs cafe too 😊

The owner was super friendly, and there's a Cafe shop just below the guest house where you can grab coffee and breakfast before heading out. Unawatuna Guest is around a ten-minute walk from the beach, with small shops, food spots and ice cream vendors along the way. Our room was spacious and cozy, and had what we needed for a few days: a fridge, AC, shower with hot water, clothes hanger for drying, and a balcony. I would've stayed longer, but we had other cities to visit. Highly recommend, have fun!

The room itself was great: spacious, with a shared balcony, ceiling fan, air conditioner, mosquito net, mini fridge, hot shower, table and chairs. WiFi worked well apart from the scheduled power cuts. But the main road was noisy, especially in the bathroom, where there seemed to be no soundproofing. Ants also kept getting in, even with the window closed. Don't leave food out, or you'll find ants crawling over your bed at night. The mattress was very hard and could use an upgrade. I only met the host when checking in and getting the key, so I can't say much about his hospitality.
