Yoho Aura Hotel

The host was so kind and welcoming, always attentive to what we needed, and made us feel cared for and at home. Our room was spotless, cozy, and comfortable, with everything we needed to relax. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and varied, a lovely start to each day. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. Highly recommend for the comfort, hospitality, and pleasant atmosphere.

Aura is central to both Galle and Unawatuna, and it was a comfortable place to stay away from the big crowds. The hosts were accommodating and lovely, and our room was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

We had a good stay at Aura Villa and would come back. The hosts were friendly, and the room was really nice and clean, with a view of the jungle and a little of the ocean. The nearby beach isn’t the nicest, but the accommodation itself was very good. I’d especially recommend it if you have your own transport.

Avoid this place. I stayed three nights and paid cash, using an Agoda cashback incentive to my credit card. Later, they cancelled all my bookings, apparently out of fear I would review their poor conduct. I was there, check the location history. They didn’t make the beds or sweep the floors unless you booked more than 5 days. I was told there was a room with a view and that the air conditioning would be fixed “tomorrow”, but it never was. The hose leaked across the bathroom floor, and the hot water heater didn’t work. On day three, chainsaws woke me at 8 am. They also wanted to keep my physical passport in their living room. The stay had been going well enough that I was willing to overlook these things, until the 4th night. I rebooked and was put in a different room that was small and hot. I told the owner, who sent his hotheaded son to tell me the room wasn’t hot and that the gaping bathroom hole with exposed rebar was acceptable. I asked him to cover it and he refused. After we argued, he shouted, “this is my place, now get out!” As I left, he got in my face and came within inches of assaulting me. Don’t stay here if you might ask them to clean or fix something.
