Shalimar Beach Resort

The pool is quite large and deep, around 9 feet at the deep end. It looked disgusting when we arrived around midday, though after it was cleaned it seemed okay. The rooms are basic, a bit dirty, made with cheap materials, and have no floor carpets. The garden is neglected too. It's a spacious beachfront property, but management has let it go. The manager and staff came across as very unprofessional, and the focus seemed to be on day visitors drinking and attending group functions. There are small parties during the day, so I wouldn't recommend it for families with children. If cleanliness and facilities aren't priorities, the price may suit you. With professional hotel staff, this could have been a good place for day outings.

My wedding on August 23, 2018 was ruined here. The manager stayed hidden all day, and the venue hadn't even been cleaned for the wedding. The buffet ran short for our guests, and the menu wasn't what we'd chosen.

The beach was lovely, and our room was beautifully decorated. The property seemed to have been recently refurbished, though some work was still happening. It didn't disturb our stay. The staff seemed new and a little disorganized, but there was nothing major to complain about.

My friends felt the same way I did, this has been the best hotel experience for all of us. The prices were really fair, the staff very friendly, and everything was clean, neat, and beautiful. For what we paid, the facilities were so good. I've never had an experience this good at that price.
