Beach Inns Holiday Resort

The sea-view rooms are gorgeous, and ours had a balcony to sit and relax on. The bed was probably the most comfortable we've had here. You also get a beautiful beach and pool, with plenty of sun loungers. Staff are lovely, the juices are amazing, and the shower is great. The hotel's air con is slowly dying out, though. It's easy to walk into the country and find local dishes. There are nice places to eat nearby, local vendors selling clothes, and a tea shop up the road. Well worth it.

We’ve been here three times already, and we’ll be back again. It's our happy place in the south of Sri Lanka, right in front of a surf spot with a beach view. The Sri Lankan-Scottish family who own it are friendly and caring. The rooms are simple but very clean and fairly priced, and the terrace is beautiful. Great food and tasty cocktails too.

My confirmed, prepaid booking for a beach-view room was cancelled without warning, after I had booked well ahead for a two-night stay as part of a three-day professional trip to Madiha Beach. I was hosting an esteemed Japanese doctor and a prominent USA Pediatrician, so the trip mattered a lot. At HOTEL BEACH INNS, HOLIDAY RESORT, the room had apparently been given to another party willing to pay more at the last minute. They offered us an inferior room without a beach view. When I refused the downgrade, the staff became rude and dismissive. They eventually returned our money, but that did nothing to make up for the wasted hours, professional embarrassment, or disruption to our short itinerary. Cancelling a confirmed premium reservation for a higher price and treating guests disrespectfully falls far below basic hospitality. The whole experience was an embarrassing logistical nightmare. If reliability and courtesy matter, especially when hosting important guests, I wouldn't trust this establishment.

For nine days we woke up to the ocean and were looked after by such a warm, caring team. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, the best we had in Sri Lanka, and the staff greeted us with genuine smiles each morning. They arranged everything we needed, from safaris and massages to cold beers, yoga, transport and laundry, always with care. Meeting families who come back year after year showed us how special the place is. Our stay at Beach Inns was incredible and unforgettable.
