The owner went out of his way to make things work for us, and we really enjoyed the food and pool. We also went on a great safari and were picked up from Saraii Village in the morning. The tree house was special to stay in and very well built. It is a little secluded, but I highly recommend it.

We loved the service and restaurant food, and the kids especially enjoyed the pool. The rooms were beautifully decorated, and sleeping in the tree house for one night was amazing. It really makes you feel part of nature.

The staff and manager were so friendly and did their best to make our stay pleasant, from lunch through breakfast. We stayed in the Tree house suites (4A 2K >5), which looked even better at night. Don’t expect TVs or internet coverage, and wind and falling leaves make it hard to keep everything spotless. Still, enjoy the pool, try a passion fruit juice or fruit platter, and wake up to the birds. Young couples, groups of guys, and solo travelers, go for it. I’d stay again when I travel south. Thanks, Saraii staff ❤️👍.

The staff were lovely, and the manager came by to explain the plan for our second evening, which was thoughtful. Dinner was served by candlelight under the stars near the pool, and the Tree House Suit had a great bedroom and a private bathroom on the same floor. Our sitting area had bean bags, chairs, tire stools, and a hammock. There was no air conditioning, but the fans and the way the tree house is built kept it cool. In the morning, we rode a tractor through the village to the river and then took a lake tour. It was a wonderful ride, with lots of birds, though the lake had little water because of the drought. Breakfast was served by the shore, and it was lovely to sit with ripples touching our feet. The pool uses salt instead of artificial chlorine, according to the manager, which made the Eco Concept more interesting to me. I wanted to try yoga but had to keep to my travel schedule. I did speak with Anna, who teaches yoga, and she was friendly, supportive, and easy to talk to.

We enjoyed our stay, and the staff were very friendly. We had booked a Superior Mud Chalet Suite with BB, but were upgraded to a spacious Mud Chalet when we arrived. The next morning’s breakfast was eggs, fruit, toast, and a juice of our choice. While we were sightseeing around Tissamaharama, the hotel called to say they needed to move us because their manager or some VIP and his family were coming for a holiday and usually used our room. We packed up and went to another Mud Chalet. It was also nice and cool, with a huge bathroom. The bathroom was partly open, covered with what looked like bamboo sticks and tree branches as the roof, which made it a great experience. We asked for breakfast packs before our 5.30 am safari, and they prepared a nice meal in an eco-friendly box: a water bottle, small bottled fruit juice, cheese sandwiches, a banana, and two pineapple slices. Stray dogs came by during our stay, so be aware if you’re afraid of them.
