Beautiful rooms and such kind, helpful hosts. The couple running the place were sweet and made everything easy. It’s well located near Weligama, Ahangama, and Mirissa Beach, with local food spots less than a five-minute walk away.

We kept the host updated about our arrival time, but our booking was suddenly canceled without any notice. By the time my wife and I reached the place at midnight, carrying our bags from the airport in the rain, nobody answered our calls. We had nowhere to go and spent the cold night outside, frightened and humiliated. I feel this host is greedy and unprofessional, and doesn’t care about guests. Maybe they accepted a better booking and left us stranded, but I can’t know for sure. Avoid this place. You could end up in the same dangerous situation. Zero stars if I could.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely sized, with spacious shared balconies, and breakfast came in generous portions. Castle Bay Resort is on a quiet street near the beach and, for the price, I think it’s the best place around. What made it feel like a second home in Sri Lanka was the family who owns it. They looked after me as if I were their daughter. Amazing people, and I absolutely recommend staying here.

Traveling alone, I felt as if I’d found a second set of parents in Sri Lanka. Mama and Papa look out for you, worry about you, and treat you like their own son or daughter. If you want to experience the hospitality of Sri Lanka and Weligama, this is the place. I’ll definitely come back, Mama & Papa 🥰!
