Rooms for Rent near Vilnius

Really great.

The room was very clean, and the drive from Vilnius through the forest made getting there pleasant. It’s a peaceful, homely spot that’s easy to reach by bike, and the staff were friendly. I was glad to find that the owner spoke Polish too. There’s plenty in the room for a weekend or a longer stay: beds, a shower bathroom, a small kitchen with a gas stove, microwave and kettle, plus a TV. I also appreciated the rolling shower shelf, a shelf above the sink, and all the outlets and extension cords for charging a phone or using a hairdryer. The beds were okay, though not especially comfortable, so I’d bring my own pillow. There’s only a clothes hanger, which could be limiting for a longer visit. Also keep in mind that the one room is for four people.

We really enjoyed our stay, and bringing our pets didn’t cost extra. There are three shops in Bezdany, with the nearest about 400 meters away; it also has a restaurant serving regional food or other lunches for 5-6€, depending on the number of people. The hosts can arrange kayaking and provide the gear and a van to transport people. We’d happily do that again next year. The place is affordable and just 300 meters from the train station. A ticket to Vilnius was 1.7€, and from the station it’s about a 10-minute walk, around 700 meters, to the Gate of Dawn and the Old Town. The hosts are a very nice Polish family. The room had practically everything we needed, including a bathroom with toilet, gas stove, kettle, basic dishes and pots, and internet. It’s also a great area for mushroom picking. About 5 km away in the village, there are private ponds and lakes where you can fish for a fee. There’s another lake in the direction of Vilnius, about 6-7 km from the apartment, with a water lift, café and fishing piers.

It’s a great spot right by the train station, with good connections to Vilnius.
