Royal Spa Residence

We keep coming back, this was our fourth visit in a year, and plan to return because the kids love the pool, salt room, and forest trails. The administrators are polite and caring, help choose spa treatments, and sort out problems. The setting is peaceful, by a river in the forest, with a good restaurant. Breakfast had a wide choice for kids, vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters, and lunch and dinner options were good too. Our family apartment had a fridge and kettle, and they brought dishes for eating in the room when we asked. The main problem was cleanliness. There was dust under the beds and on the bedside tables, and it looked like it had been there for months. Maybe the cleaning staff are underpaid or aren't trained to clean all the corners, not just the middle of the room. We were also missing basic kitchen things like a tea towel and dish cleaner.

The food and calm, welcoming atmosphere were highlights of our short family retreat at Birstonas Resident SPA Hotel. Breakfast was especially delicious, parking was easy, and the pool water seemed clean and regularly checked. The rooms were fine, though cleanliness could be a little better. A simple welcome pack or information sheet would help, since even turning on the fridge wasn't obvious. The pool is on the small side, which wasn't clear from the online description, and it felt crowded on busy days, cutting into the relaxing feel. One jacuzzi was also out of order in the middle of the busy season. We had a really nice stay and enjoyed it, and with a few improvements to the facilities and little details it could be even better.

The forest walk to the observation tower after breakfast is worth doing for the fantastic landscape. We spent two nights at this beautiful property and had a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious and newly renovated, the bed was super comfy with crisp linen, and the bathroom was fresh and clean. The rain shower deserves its own mention. The package included the salt room, saunas, pool, and spa treatments, plus a relaxing session with singing bowls. We also booked a full body scrub and came away with skin smooth as silk. The pool isn't huge, but at the right time, like when we went, you can have it to yourself. At one point it was just the two of us in all the saunas, jacuzzi, and pool. When the weather was sunny, we sunbathed outside the spa center. Breakfast had everything we wanted, from eggs and oatmeal to sandwiches and pancakes with five fillings. Dinner could have had more variety. Everyone on the team we met was polite, friendly, and attentive. Parking is free with plenty of space. A wonderful stay, even if there's always room for perfection.

The amenities are top-tier, the staff warm, and the food delicious. The decor is the one miss: it's too dated to feel royal.
