Silvija Guest House

The manager was very unfriendly and refused to refund the night I didn’t stay. I’d booked a courtyard-facing room, but was given one on a busy street instead. Buses and motorcycles rattled past all night. The room was boiling hot, and I couldn’t open the window because there were no bars and anyone could climb in from the street. The manager said I’d have to pay him an extra ten euros in cash to get the inner-facing room I’d booked. I ended up moving to Rinno Hotel, the same price and a million times better, and closer to the Old Town. UPDATE: THEY STOLE MY MONEY! THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG ROOM, I MOVED TO ANOTHER HOTEL, AND THEY STILL DIDN’T REFUND ME. THIS IS A SCAM PROPERTY! Absolutely awful. I can’t understand the positive reviews. The place is small and dark, furnished like an eighties motel, and spread across a ground floor and basement that both felt depressing and claustrophobic. The kitchen had no windows and was grim, and the plates and utensils weren’t clean. This place isn’t even cheap. There are plenty of hotels and guesthouses in Vilnius, and I’d encourage people to look elsewhere. I wouldn’t stay at Silvija again if you paid me.

We were able to leave our luggage in a locker after checkout and pick it up later that day. The whole arrangement was flexible and easy. Our stay at Silvija Guest House was great, with clean, comfortable rooms. Highly recommended, and we’ll stay again on our next Vilnius visit.

The room was pretty basic, but for the price I’d give it five stars. It was clean, and the owner and her husband were very friendly. Mine faced the street on the ground floor, yet I didn’t hear any traffic. It was great having the little kitchen available.

The furniture was very old, the carpet smelled, and the room wasn’t very clean. They didn’t come to clean at all on the second day. I asked for a quiet room, and the owner remembered that, but didn’t tell me they didn’t have one. The room was noisy and on a noisy road, with the bus right outside the window. Night check-in is done by code, and they don’t leave an emergency number in case something goes wrong. I stayed in four different hotels on my last trip, and this one was the worst. I won’t come back or recommend it.
