The food has been the main letdown on our recent visits. The beef tartare cost 19 EUR and was disappointing in both taste and presentation. At those prices, the kitchen needs to do better and bring the food up to the level the resort suggests. We’ve liked coming to Vilnius Grand Resort for a long time, and it still feels like good value for the price. The atmosphere and surroundings have always been part of the appeal. Lately, though, the spa has been so crowded that it’s hard to relax, and it no longer feels as peaceful or exclusive as before. We’d also love to be able to stay in the Deluxe apartments with our dog, even if that meant paying an extra fee.

The four-course dinner at the Asian restaurant was poor. The soup reminded me of hospital food, the sushi rice was dry and stale, and the ice cream was awful. The chicken teriyaki was just okay. The restaurant felt like a canteen. We came as a group and paid the discounted 79€ offer, which included Only Vitality spa, the salt room, and dinner. The spa was packed, there weren’t enough lockers, and reception wouldn’t replace a towel. They shouldn’t sell extra places when there’s no room for people to move around. The hotel is old, the service is very low, and I don’t think it was worth the money. Two stars.

The hotel grounds look lovely, with ponds, watersports, and beaches, though we visited in winter and couldn’t use those outdoor amenities. Both indoor swimming areas stayed open until 10pm, which was good. The basic pool felt cramped and noisy, while the quieter 'vitality' area had a more luxurious feel and an outdoor jacuzzi. It costs €25 pp extra per day, not for the whole stay, so keep that in mind if you’re only there for one night. It’s a beautiful old hotel, but many rooms still look dated and are waiting for refurbishment. We also found the layout confusing, and it could use more signs.

The pool chlorine stung my eyes, and the price was not worth it. The breakfasts were disgusting and low quality, and the food in the "restaurants" was poor too. Staff were rude to guests, apparently because the owner doesn’t pay them on time. The place was dirty and badly maintained, including the toilets in the rooms.

The massages were a pleasant part of the day. They were probably the only thing I didn’t have to sort out myself. Most of the rest felt like managing problems instead of relaxing. We spent 20 minutes running back and forth over the food bill, only to find we couldn’t pay at the spa reception as we’d been promised. The food was supposed to be included in our spa package and billed at the end. My friends and I booked the "Private spa" package for 6 people, with no accommodation. There were 5 of us, but we paid for 6 at 85 EUR per person. The hotel presents itself as a 4-star place with all the conveniences, but the service felt like 3 stars at most. The private sauna was nice, and we had it for two hours, but the advertised option to order food and drinks there didn’t work for us. We had to drink tea in the spa hall beforehand, even though there was an ante room where they could have served it. Getting the tea took ages, and teabags felt odd at a spa hotel. In the ante room there was only water in thin plastic glasses. We also had to go to the restaurant ourselves during the sauna to order food, then return afterward to eat a few snacks quickly before our massages so we wouldn’t faint. The staff were friendly, but didn’t offer much guidance. No one said “enjoy your time” or explained that we could enter the sauna with our bracelets. We worked that out ourselves. Other small things added up. The hair dryers barely worked, and one didn’t work at all. On busy weekend afternoons there were too many people, too little changing room space, and not enough appliances. The showers were old, cramped, and offered no privacy. Their sensor buttons and inconsistent water pressure made it hard to have a proper shower and relax at the end of the spa day.
