Kaunas Garden

It’s close to most shops, St. Michael the Archangel Church, and a Šilas convenience store right next door. The entrance can be hard to spot and looks a little sketchy, though it seemed fairly safe. Inside, the decor is very nice, the rooms are smoke-free, and both the outside and room doors have locks. Towels, pillows, bedding, and a heated towel rack are provided. There’s also a pleasant shared kitchen and common area, and the rooms are cleaned regularly.

The place is well kept and the quality was better than I expected for the price. It’s in a great spot in town, and I managed with the limited parking available. There’s no staff on site since everything is automated. My room was decent and fine for sleeping, though small, and there’s no table to set up a laptop if you want to work. You’ll need to climb stairs to reach the second floor, so it isn’t accessible, though I guess it’s good exercise. East-facing windows may mean noise in the morning after 7. There’s no air conditioning, so a small room could get hot depending on the weather, though it’s rarely hot.

The room was tiny and nothing like the pictures. The doors and walls are so thin you can hear everything, the table was old, and the TV didn’t work. Then the alarm went off at 1 a.m., and I couldn’t get hold of the owner. 😔😢👎👎👎 I really don’t understand all the good reviews. Almost nothing about this stay was worth it.

The apartment was clean, tidy, and nice and quiet. The shared kitchen has only a small fridge, so there wasn’t much room for food once other guests had filled it. Also, the so-called AC doesn’t cool the place, it’s for heating the floors in cold weather. In summer, the only option was a loud fan.
