We liked being able to spend the day in Palanga and then return to a quiet spot surrounded by nature for the evening. Provincija Guest House is only a short drive from town, tucked between the nature reserve and the sea. There’s a pedestrian and cycle path by the Baltic Sea, so getting to Palanga on foot or by bike is easy. I took the wooded path to the Amber Museum, which is in the restored 19th-century Tiškevičiai Palace amid the Palanga Botanical Garden. Walking that way helped me avoid the headwind; on the way back, I walked along the shore with the wind behind me. Palanga has museums and restaurants to visit before heading back for a cozy night in nature. The guest house has a sauna and lots of art, instruments, and objects by Lithuanian and international artists who visit regularly. The hosts always seem to have interesting stories to share. Kids can play on the wooden rides and structures in the playground while adults relax nearby with a book or laptop. I even found some mushrooms around the property. It’s a friendly, cozy place in a handy location, and good value for money.

It’s an easy ten-minute drive into Palanga, and there’s a nice walk through the park to the ocean. The guest house also has a garden, a playground, and a little pond full of fish that kept the kids entertained. It’s not a fancy place, but we found it really relaxing and well suited to a family holiday.

My family may have found our Baltic Sea holiday spot. We stayed in autumn, when the place felt calm and pleasant, and the hosts were the friendliest I’ve ever met. It’s tidy and peaceful, and the houses have the modern equipment and useful things you need.

The owners are a lovely couple and happy to help with whatever you need. The beach nearby was quiet, and the kids had a great time at the artsy playground. Such a lovely place.

A lovely, peaceful setting with really welcoming hosts and a huge playground for children. Just come prepared for mosquitoes, as there are forest and swamp areas nearby.
