The location was the only decent part. My room must have been the worst one: the ceiling was so low I had to keep my head down to avoid hitting it. There were no towels or sheets until I asked, and the Wi-Fi either didn’t work or was too weak. The windowless bathroom also had an odd smell.

The botanical park nearby is huge and lovely, with the amber museum at its center and a route through to the beach. There are lots of benches and spots to take a break, and the beach promenade has everything you might need. It’s a good outing for kids and adults alike. If you enjoy walking, I’d recommend the place, though the beach is about a kilometer away on foot. The room itself was spacious and clean, with a kitchenette and bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. There’s also a wonderful Japanese garden near Palanga, which feels like another world. Set aside at least half a day if you go. You can take food and drinks for a little picnic at one of the many lovely spots there. Highly recommended.

When we arrived, they offered to cancel the reservation and have us pay in cash. The room was a nightmare: unfinished walls, USB ports stuck onto the walls, and a shower cubicle covered by a board. It felt like a horror movie. If you want your evening ruined, stay here.
