Viva Trakai

We were in Trakai and came across the restaurant. We really enjoyed its delicious Georgian cuisine and the wonderful views of the frozen lake.

I’ve booked a room here several times, and it’s been a great stay every time. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, each with an amazing lake view. The staff are very friendly and go above and beyond.

We booked two rooms, one with a sauna and one in the guest rooms, and had a jetty where we could swim in the lake. The Georgian-run place had BBQ food cooked just right. Dinner was mezze, and breakfast was omelette, eggs, and breads. The staff were really helpful and accommodating, and the rooms were very clean. The views of Trakai castle and the surrounding lakes were top drawer. I'd like to stay here again.

The castle views are superb, and the lady who served us was nice and helpful during our one-night stay, including dinner and breakfast. The food, though, was mostly average or below. We tried a range of starters and mains, and most weren't tasty or well prepared. The shashlyk was the worst: poor-quality meat, overcooked and dry. Portions felt small for the price, and to me the Georgian restaurant just wasn't worth it. I'd choose a Lithuanian restaurant instead. Caesar salad and most breakfast options were good picks, but I can't recommend the mains. Still, it's worth going for a snack and a drink while enjoying the castle view.
