Grotthuss Boutique Hotel

We were welcomed by genuinely kind staff, and the spacious room was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and carefully prepared. Right in the heart of Vilnius, this charming boutique hotel makes it easy to explore the old town on foot. It has a warm, characterful feel and lovely attention to detail. Highly recommended.

This is a friendly, clean hotel at a good price. If you’re after a modern look, Artagonist Art hotel is the one; if you prefer a fresh, clean old style, choose this place. I like both. You can also buy a folkloric symbolic mask here to ward off impurities.

The location is close to the center and quiet, with attractions on the nearby streets. There are also a couple of authentic shops selling French cheese and plants on the same street. We had a beautiful, cozy, clean, comfortable room, with a kettle, cups, a couple of tea bags, and bottled water. A nice touch. The bedding and blankets were soft, the mattress comfortable, and we slept well. Breakfasts were delicious, and the dining hall has a terrace. In the evening it becomes a charming café with live jazz. Service was calm and pleasant, and leaving our luggage there was handy. I really liked the place and would love to come back. Thank you!

The noise outside was another problem. We were on the first floor facing a cobbled main road, with cars speeding past noisily at all hours. Better soundproofing might help, though that part isn’t under the hotel’s control. The worst issue was breakfast: the room was far too small, and when we arrived they took our room number, then sent us to wait in reception even though all the seats were taken. Nobody was managing the queue or offering any idea how long a table would take. We waited another 40 minutes, with other guests behind us waiting even longer. The food selection was limited and wasn’t being refreshed much. This was very poor for paying guests. They should stop overbooking breakfast or manage it better. At checkout, they said it was their fault, which we already knew, but offered no refund or complimentary item. There were smaller issues too. The room had a coffee machine but no kettle or tea bags, which was fair enough. The room phone went unanswered when I called reception for extra pillows, since the one each provided was too small and thin. Staff said the pillows would come in 30-40 minutes, but after an hour there was no sign. I called again with no answer, then went to reception twice and couldn’t find anyone. When I called the hotel number from my mobile, they answered, and the same person brought the pillows up within two minutes.
