Town Hall apartment

The bar downstairs is a really good cocktail place, so make sure to stop in for a drink. We stayed directly above it, with windows onto the street, and didn’t hear anything after 10 pm, despite what other reviews say about noise. The rooms were clean, comfortable and nice. They’re supplied with a fridge, sink, kettle and some tableware. A microwave would have made it five stars. The location is very central, just off the main square.

There’s an elevator, which was the best part of the apartment for me. The space itself was okay, though the mattress and pillow have seen better days, and the bare walls don’t make it feel very welcoming. You’re on your own because there’s no way to contact anyone from the apartments. The listing should say they’re right above a bar with music and outdoor tables, because it’s noisy. I booked partly because it claimed the windows were soundproof, but they really aren’t. I could hear everything people said outside my window. I don’t understand the high ratings on booking sites; that wasn’t my experience.

Really good stay, with a great location and nicely sized rooms. The furniture could use an update, though. I loved having a lift so we didn’t have to carry our luggage.

My large family came from Iceland to Vilnius, where I’m a student, and we stayed for the first week of June. We booked three comfortable rooms in the lovely Old town, close to me, and each had what we needed, including balconies where we could wave to one another. There was a problem with a door on the first day, but staff fixed it that same day while we were having breakfast. We didn’t even meet the person who came to repair it. Jurga R., one of the hotel maids, was another highlight. We saw her in the lobby and hallway, and she was kind and helpful with our walker and luggage. She answered our questions despite the language barrier with my grandparents, and we managed to communicate. Management should know what an asset she is.
