Vilnius Grand Resort

I finally have a moment to write this after the travel and holiday rush. Grand Hotel Vilnius was a wonderful stay, with a great atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and excellent staff. There are only a handful of hotels like it around the world, the Waldorf Versailles is another example. It's in the heart of Old Town Vilnius, just across from an ancient square and historic buildings. The sights are a short walk away, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, and institutions nearby. The Vilnius Christmas Market was right there, and a marathon through Old Town added to the festive feel. Europe's oldest university is almost next door, with interesting things to see of its own. Our upgraded room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and quiet. The lobby had holiday decorations and lovely live piano music several times a day. The restaurants and shops are on the lobby level, with the spa and exercise rooms one level below. The staff knew the hotel's history and were helpful with questions and suggestions. Maxim made sure we had everything we needed at breakfast, and Vytautas at reception was a wonderful resource. Everyone was great, but those two especially stood out. Other nearby hotels are nice in their own way, but the elegance and service here set Grand Hotel Vilnius apart. Treat yourself to a stay here next time you're in Vilnius.

The team were helpful and quick to respond when we shared some feedback. They were arranging several things during our stay, and they sorted out the issues to the standard you'd expect from a five-star hotel. Credit to the management and staff for the kindness and care they showed in handling things. The room was great, and breakfast was lovely, with wonderful restaurant waiters. They also gave us champagne for our anniversary, a very thoughtful touch. We had a pleasant stay, thank you 🙏

Breakfast was a highlight, with a generous buffet alongside table service. I especially liked the Lithuanian-style eggs, cooked just right and well worth recommending. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the huge bath was especially welcome after long days around the city. The hotel's facilities were excellent and well maintained. Grand Curio Hilton in Vilnius is modern, well run, and in a great location. I'd happily stay again on my next trip to Vilnius.

The location is central, service was excellent, and breakfast was satisfying, though the same each day. The pool was free and pleasant most days; it could perhaps be a bit warmer, but the jacuzzi helped. We’d asked for a connecting door between our twin and king rooms, but got adjoining rooms without one. The king room also had lighting issues, probably electrical, that may be fixed when the floor is renovated. The twin room’s bathroom and shower were much roomier than the king’s. The hotel feels dated, with lots of stains on the carpet and headboard, but it was still a pleasant stay.
