The hotel is very clean and sits by lots of good trails, with the Mullerthal trails close by. The classic Victorian decor made the stay feel a little pampering, and the staff were polite and helpful. I didn't understand why “no picnic” signs were posted all over the dining area. It gave me the impression they thought guests would steal food. One thing to clarify is the charging facility they claim to have. It seems to be private and unavailable to public vehicles, since a charger from the same company 200 m away worked with my card. I arrived feeling secure that I could come with a low SoC, then worried about where to charge. I had hoped to charge overnight, but instead sat on a cold bench by the public charger for 1.5 hours to get the battery to a decent level for the next day's adventures. Keep that in mind if you're traveling with an EV.

A good base for exploring the small town, and close to a bus stop with direct service to the mullerthal trail and echternach town.

Our junior suite for three had a sofa bed and a small bathroom, and the decor felt a little dated. Still, the room was large, the indoor pool was lovely, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is right by the Mullerthal trail, Route 2.

The rooms got uncomfortably hot during our stay, and with no air conditioning it was hard to sleep. We knew there was no A/C before arriving, and we don't have it at home either, but these were especially hot days. The pillows were old and badly out of shape, which made sleeping even tougher. Since sleeping is a hotel's main purpose, I can't honestly give five stars, even though I loved the rest. The service, food, location and facilities were all great. We especially liked being near a supermarket and hiking trail, used the pool every day, found the staff courteous and helpful, and enjoyed the beautiful garden. Better pillows and A/C would make this an easy five star hotel.
