Dolce Vita

At €80 per room for two people, per night, the price felt steep for the standard. We never got an apology or explanation for how we were treated or for the wait at reception, and I wouldn't recommend the place, even for one night or a drink. We hadn't eaten there. Breakfast costs €10 and a family member said it wasn't worth it. The restaurant was hot and had flies, and there was a guy sleeping on a table, which put us off too. We'd booked two rooms, but when we arrived, a staff member was asleep with his mouth open on one of the restaurant tables. Apparently no one else was available to greet us except the maid. She told us there was a problem with our online booking and no rooms for us. She seemed panicked and irritated by the situation, sighing every 20 seconds or so. After at least 20 minutes, someone else, perhaps the owner, came to help, but she wasn't very charming either. We finally got room keys after another 10 minutes. The rooms were clean, thanks to the cleaning lady, who seemed to do her job well while also trying to welcome guests. But they were old-fashioned, with dated equipment. One room had a plastic bag wrapped around a toilet pipe, presumably as a fix for a leak. Some rooms have small kitchens, though a notice says they're not allowed to be used after some fires.

I only stopped in for a drink, but the friendly, warm service made me want to come back and try the restaurant.

The staff were friendly, and the food was great. I was in Mondorf-les-Bains for a month on business and ate here nearly every night. If I find myself in Luxembourg again, this will be my first stop.

Near the thermal area of Mondorf, this is a very good Italian restaurant with friendly staff.
