Hôtel de la Poste

Dust was everywhere, including all over the bed, so I had to open the window to air it out. There was black mold in all 6 of our rooms and literal holes in the walls. The rooms were disgusting. The man running the hotel threatened me, and management was HORRIBLE. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! WASTE OF MONEY!!!

I had a good stay, and everything went fine. Afterward, I learned there had been trouble in our travel group paying the hotel. Apparently the staff were really kind to the people handling it, even though it must have been stressful for them. They were very nice in general, and I felt they deserved a positive review.

The location is right in the middle of the pedestrian zone, and being able to load and unload at the entrance was helpful. The rest of the stay was disappointing. We could hear noise from the neighboring rooms all night, and the price felt far too high for what we got. There was cigarette ash on our windowsill when we entered the room. It was partly hidden behind the curtain, but I don't know how it could have been missed or how long it had been there. We also had a wedding to attend and needed an iron to steam our clothes. After reception said they'd bring one, it wasn't there when we went downstairs. The receptionist said, “maybe someone took it” and laughed. I asked to be told if it turned up, but never heard anything. Our reservation said “breakfast included,” but there was no breakfast available. Nobody told us at check-in, apparently because no staff were available. The underground parking cost 12 euro a day, smelled horrible, and had a very outdated gate system. To get out, we had to pull a string at the bottom of the hill. At least renovate the gate. I don't recommend staying here.

I tested positive for Covid-19 the morning of my booking, so I had to cancel that same day. They refused my request to reschedule or get even a partial refund, then charged me another 12 €. I wasn't given a clear reason. Maybe it was for a parking space I never used? Pretty disappointing.
