Au P'tit Max - Studios hotel

The restaurant was the reason we chose the hotel, and the food itself didn't disappoint. The English menu was confusing, though. Apparently pork comes from a fish? The accommodation was in the next building, separate from the restaurant. They'd crammed two stowaway single beds, three wardrobes, a desk, a mini kitchen, a table, and an ensuite into 15 square metres. There was barely any floor space, and I tripped over the metal bed ends several times. It was the opposite of romantic. There was no coffee in the room despite the kitchen, so we headed down for breakfast, only to find the restaurant closed and no breakfast available. The waiter had asked the night before if we wanted breakfast, and we'd said yes, so that was more than a little disappointing. We also had no way to check out, so we left the key in the room and went looking for breakfast elsewhere. We won't be going back.

The rooms were clean, parking was free, and the location was convenient for Luxexpo. Customer service, though, was nonexistent. The staff were polite but wouldn't do anything to accommodate us, and don't expect help with your luggage, even if you have to carry it to the second floor. They also couldn't provide room service, despite our strong family reasons for asking. The owner's policy mattered more.

The room was great, and both check-in and check-out were easy. The Wi-Fi, though, was unreliable.

The rooms were clean, though the beds were small. There’s no reception, bar, or vending machine, so bring some snacks and drinks. There is a fridge in the room. I arrived late, and the connected restaurant was already closed.
