Hotel Bon Repos

A cozy, relaxing spot for a nice evening in the Mullerthal area. The staff were warm and friendly, and both the pizza and cocktails were delicious. The pizza was fresh and well made. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant, and I'll be back.

Good rooms, a tasty dinner and plenty of choice, with good value for money. It's right by a bus stop and makes a great base for starting the Mullerthal Trail. Recommended.

The hotel's location worked well for exploring the Mullerthal Trail, and Luxembourg City is only a 30-minute drive away. The restaurant food was nice, though expensive. There's also a pizzeria three minutes away with food just as good at more reasonable prices. Our stay was seriously let down by the room and the response to problems. We booked a bath, but the room only had a shower, and there was no door or curtain, so water went all over the bathroom. On the first night, staff tried to help by opening the sauna showers two floors up, but those were cold and wouldn't lock. We got prosecco at dinner as compensation and were told the shower would be sorted the next day. It wasn't, and no solution was offered. We ended up taking a cold shower and using every towel we had to mop up the flooded bathroom. Staff just told us to email the hotel. The email replies were rude and didn't fix or address the problem. There were blue and red lights on the room's switches and controls that couldn't be turned off at night. The bathroom window had no curtain, and its door was transparent, so light spilled into the main room. There were no tea or coffee facilities, the carpet was worn and the bedding looked dated. Each person got just one square pillow. There wasn't a shared place to sit with our own refreshments, not even on the terrace, and there were no chairs in the room. To sit in a communal area, you have to buy all your food and drinks from the hotel.

The location is great for getting onto the Mullerthal trails, and breakfast with bacon and eggs was decent. But our stay at Hotel Bon Repos & Restaurant Le Grill was a mixed bag. The shower was extremely hot and there was no way to change the temperature. At dinner, we waited half an hour just to get a menu, then left because service was so slow and the main dishes cost €30 or more. I'd drive three minutes to a nearby pizzeria for a better meal.
